Stortinget

The Storting (Stortinget, literally "the Grand Assembly / Thing") is the Norwegian Parliament, and is located in the capital city Oslo. It sits in the Storting building which was completed in 1866 and was designed by the Swedish architect Emil Victor Langlet.

    Flott bilde av det Store Tinget! Var faktisk ikke klar over at det var en svensk arkitekt bak det! Lærer stadig noe nytt via forskjellige blogger!

    Og de SkyWatchbildene er nydelige - som vanlig! Leter etter et speilrefleks om dagen, ser stor forskjell på bilder tatt med det, og mitt eget Olympus SP-560UZ! Men selvfølgelig, man må jo lære seg bruken av det - og det lærer jeg faktisk litt om på forhånd av både dine bilder, og andres. Og jeg evner å lese en bruksanvisning.... :)

    This is such a beautiful structure! and I love how the bottom of the photo gives the illusion of curving with the sidewalk - awesome!

    Stakkars alle østpå som enda sliter med snø. Her er våren kommet. I hvetfall en smakebit. Bare veier og 6 pluss. Like før jeg kommer på veien pr. MC.

    Det ante meg at det var et praktfullt bilde som ville møte meg, og jeg fikk helt rett!

    Dine skygger er på langt nær så forstyrrende som de jeg har fått på mitt. Ser av lysvinkelen at du har vært der tidligere på dagen, og da slapp du unna skyggen av reklameskiltene på hustaket over gaten.

    I recognize the s and definition of Grand Assembly because of the Manx Tynwald. Your building is much more impressive though.

    There's an odd kind of optical illusion going on here. I can't decide if the blocks at the bottom of the frame are paving stones on the ground, or building stoned forming some sort of bridge. I thinks the way the show takes away the line of intersection makes the perspective tricky to determine. It's only when you consider that the benches would be facing -- and nearly toppling over -- the very edge of the "bridge" that you realize this coudln't possibly be a bridge. Unless it was designed as a suicide assistance method!
